Miracle on 34th Street

Heart-on-its-sleeve Christmas classic about good old Yuletide values versus crass commercialism and economic rationalism. Seaton won an Oscar for his script as did Edmund Gwenn for his portrayal of the Macy's Santa who has to convince an  8 year old Natalie Wood, who appears as a miniature version of her adult self, that Santa isn't just a lot of hooey.
