Stolen Kisses

The continuing story of Truffaut's alter ego, Antoine Doinel (Jean-Pierre Léaud),is told against the distant background of Paris 1968 with great charm and cinematic knowingness by one of the masters of the French New Wave who dedicated the film to Henri Langlois of the Cinemathèque Française.

The film follows the episodic adventures of young protagonist of Truffaut’s The 400 Blows after he has been discharged from the army for being "temperamentally unfit”.  Characteristic of Truffaut the film is light of touch Antoine’s insouciant self-centredness having an appeal here that would tend to wear thin in his subsequent appearance in Bed And Board (1970)
